Cook the Look

Hooray for a new section of my blog! hahaha. This section will feature random looks from past or present collections from designers, or looks from random people. I will use this section to share some tips from time to time on how to achieve the looks thus, “Cook the Look”. :p

Ok… Time to wear our fashion goggles!

Resort 2013 collections from designers have recently been released already. One collection that has really caught my attention is the Balmain Resort 2013 showcase. Olivier Rousteing has really done a good job in making the brand shine since he was named the new head designer last year. He was able to highlight the garments through careful details and fresh silhouettes.

As a current fan of prints and colors, here are my favorite looks from the collection:

How to Cook the Look:

1. Mix bold prints in Black/White with solid pastel colors. Doing this will help tone down the look and still keep the accent on the print.

2. Use blazers grazing through the hip line for a parisian chic effect. This goes well with a pair of loose cuffed trousers.

3. Accessorize with semi-matte metallics.  These type of accessories can be used in hundreds of looks.
